Sealed Where It Matters

Water inside a cable plug usually enters at two places: the cable entry and the mating interface. The FGG.0K.309 closes both. A dual-lip silicone gasket sits inside the plug nose and is compressed only when the latch clicks home, so the seal is never pre-loaded while the connector is open. At the rear, a tapered collet clamps the cable jacket and the bend relief nut squeezes a second silicone bushing around the jacket.

Sealing stack, outside in

1. Bend relief nut - mechanical clamp, tool-free hand tightening.
2. Rear silicone bushing - 4.2 mm nominal cable OD, compresses 0.4 mm on tightening.
3. Tapered brass collet - grips the jacket so pull load never reaches the solder joints.
4. Front dual-lip gasket - radial seal at the mating interface, IP68 when fully latched.

Water and corrosion test data

Every batch is sampled for immersion, salt spray and insulation resistance before packing. Units that will live outdoors or on washdown machinery can be supplied with an additional potting boot.

Cable preparation checklist

• Strip jacket 22 mm, keep shield braid intact for the 360° ring.
• Tin each conductor 2 mm, no stray strands inside the bucket.
• Seat the gasket flat before tightening the nut; a tilted gasket is the number one cause of leaks in the field.
• Test with a 0.2 bar air decay check after assembly.

Packing

Each plug ships in an individual PE bag with a dust cap fitted, ten bags per anti-static layer, then export carton. Dust caps are reused during installation, so keep them in the box.
